Walkie-Talkie GA ("the app") is a push-to-talk voice app operated by Browning PC, LLC ("we," "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it. We designed the app to collect as little as possible.
We do not show ads, we do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not sell or share your personal data.
Information we collect
Phone number — used as your account identity and verified by a one-time SMS code. Verification texts are sent through our provider, Twilio. We store your number only as a salted cryptographic hash, never in plain text.
Contacts — to show you which of your contacts already use the app, your device computes a one-way hash of each contact's phone number and sends only those hashes. We do not receive or store your contacts' names, and non-members are never revealed or retained.
Voice recordings — the short voice clips you record and send. They are transmitted securely and deleted from our servers after they are delivered (removed within 24 hours of being played, and no later than 14 days regardless).
Display name — the name you choose to show to the people you talk to.
Push notification token — an Apple-provided identifier used only to notify you of incoming transmissions via the Apple Push Notification service.
How we use your information
To verify your phone number and create your account.
To match you with contacts who also use the app.
To deliver the voice clips you send and receive.
To send you notifications about incoming transmissions.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or tracking.
Third-party services
Twilio — sends the SMS verification code to your phone number.
Apple Push Notification service — delivers notifications to your device.
These providers process only the minimum data needed to perform their function.
Data retention
Voice clips are transient and deleted as described above. Account information (your hashed number and display name) is kept while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing us.
Security
All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Phone numbers are stored only as salted hashes.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Your choices
You can revoke Contacts and Microphone permissions at any time in iOS Settings. To delete your account and data, contact us at the address below.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date.
