FieldDraft — Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 9, 2026 · Browning PC, LLC
FieldDraft (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is a job-note app for field technicians published by
Browning PC, LLC. This policy explains what data the app handles and why.
We keep it minimal: there are no accounts, and your job notes are stored
on your device by default.
Information we process
-
Voice notes & transcripts. If you grant microphone and speech recognition
permission, the app records audio and converts it to text so you can create a job note.
Speech recognition uses Apple’s system frameworks. Depending on your device and settings,
recognition may run on-device or use Apple’s speech services under
Apple’s Privacy Policy.
-
Job content you create. Customer names, site labels, summaries, tech notes,
line items, and original transcripts are saved locally on your device (via on-device storage).
We do not host a FieldDraft account server for this content.
-
Optional AI structuring (only if you enable it). If you add an xAI API key in
Settings and leave “On-device only” off, the app sends the transcript text you process
(and any customer/site labels you entered) to xAI so it can draft a customer summary and line items.
That request is governed by xAI’s terms and privacy policy. Your API key is stored only on your
device and is not sent to Browning PC.
-
Photos (optional / future). If you attach a photo of a machine or work site,
that image stays on your device with the job note unless you choose to share it yourself.
-
Business settings. Business name, default labor rate, and AI preferences are
stored locally on your device.
How we use information
- To create, edit, search, and share job notes, summaries, and PDFs on your device.
- To structure notes with AI when you choose to use an API key.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use your job notes for advertising or cross-app tracking.
What we do not collect by default
- No FieldDraft user accounts or sign-in.
- No advertising identifier (IDFA) and no third-party ads in the app.
- No analytics SDK that profiles you across other companies’ apps.
Sharing
Content leaves your device only when you share it (for example via the system
share sheet, Messages, email, or PDF export), or when you opt into AI structuring with your own
API key as described above.
Third-party services
- Apple — operating system, speech recognition, and App Store infrastructure.
- xAI — optional AI structuring if you supply an API key
(xAI legal / privacy).
Data retention & deletion
Job notes and settings remain on your device until you delete them in the app or delete the app.
If you used AI structuring, xAI’s retention of request content is controlled by xAI, not by us.
To remove a stored API key, clear it in Settings or delete the app.
Children’s privacy
FieldDraft is intended for field technicians and small businesses. It is not directed to children
under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page and, where
appropriate, note the change in the app.
